Guardian Angel Gala

On the evening of October 8th, St. John Berchmans School will be hosting their annual Guardian Angel Gala at St. Ignatius College Prep. An academically challenging environment, a diverse learning atmosphere and faith focused teaching provide SJB students with the ability to learn without distractions and dream without limits.

SJB is rich in ethnic diversity and has a wide range of students from various socioeconomic backgrounds with 35% of students receiving financial assistance. St. John Berchmans School is dedicated to making education accessible to families regardless of income, and a good deal of the aid that we provide is made possible by our fundraising efforts. The Guardian Angel Gala recognizes outstanding members of the SJB community. The benefit will raise scholarship funds for the students who receive tuition assistance.

This year, the school will honor Thomas and Dr. Loretta Volini for their support of St. John Berchmans School. Thomas and Loretta are an extraordinary example of service and charity. Dr. Volini serves on the Board of Specified Jurisdiction at the school. Additionally, Dr. Volini was instrumental in organizing the libraries at the Logan primary school and junior high campus and for personally conducting the library’s Junior High program.

Tom Volini has served for five years on the Parish Finance Committee and personally directed, along with Paul Michelson, another member of the Committee, parish and school restoration efforts ranging from playground and lavatory facilities, boiler replacement, masonry construction on the exterior of the campus and handicapped accessibility inside the church. Both husband and wife give freely of their time and talents, always ready to serve as advisors in school and parish programs. From lessons in Shakespeare, to parish spaghetti dinners SJB relies on Mr. and Mrs. Volini for countless services that enrich the St. John Berchmans community.

The Gala is an endeavor to give all children the opportunity to experience the academic excellence, safe environment and values-driven education provided by St. John Berchmans School.
